Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026
These terms govern your use of Equalize. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
1. Using Equalize
Equalize is a household management application for tracking shared expenses, chores, shopping, and spending. You must be at least 16 years old to use it. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Keep your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, notify us immediately at hello@equalizeapp.com.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Equalize is a subscription service. One subscription covers your entire household — all members share access under a single plan.
- Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis.
- You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- Refunds are handled in accordance with the applicable app store or payment provider policies.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
4. Free trial
New households may be eligible for a free trial. No payment is taken until the trial ends. You can cancel before the trial ends without being charged.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Equalize for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or tamper with the app or its infrastructure.
- Upload harmful, abusive, or misleading content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data.
6. Your data
You retain ownership of the data you enter into Equalize. By using the service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide and improve Equalize. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
7. Intellectual property
Equalize, its design, and its code are owned by us. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of Equalize to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the app for personal household management purposes.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Equalize available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, updates, or changes to the service with or without notice.
9. Limitation of liability
Equalize is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Equalize after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
